Dandelion Rising
Dawn Ellis and visual artist Gordon Sasaki of Hawai’i and New York City collaborate across the globe on a visual book of poetry that speaks to needs arising in this time of pandemic and distrust. Themes of sustainability and social justice intertwine. The book weaves dual stories of a girl of color and the edible weed, the dandelion, as they come of age. Each finds a way to shine as an asset even as there are those in society that disregard their worth.
